FOXY BROWN - A YEAR IN JAIL!
Foxy Brown - following in Lil Kim's footsteps. Here's the blow-by-blow according to the NY Daily News....
IMPLODING HIP-HOP diva Foxy Brown warbled in court yesterday she'd changed her tune, but the judge said she had heard that one before and sentenced the singer to a year in jail. Brown - who was indicted yesterday on a separate charge of assaulting a neighbor - did not react when Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson ended the hearing by sending her back to Rikers Island for probation violations. "I'm not giving you any more chances," Jackson said. "I hope you learn from this and never again have to stand in a court of law." Brown, 28, had been sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty last year to assaulting two manicurists during a fight in a Chelsea nail salon. But she kept tangling with the law. "I acknowledge the fact that you gave me a chance," said Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand. "I made mistakes. I acknowledge it. "This is a wakeup call," said Brown, sporting a gray pantsuit, high heels and handcuffs. "I made horrible decisions. "[Jail] humbled me in a way I never imagined," said Brown, who had been held at Rikers since Aug. 22. "I want to make a conscious effort to change."
But Jackson - who had twice before ignored prosecutors' requests that Brown be jailed - was out of patience. "Ms. Marchand, it's too little, too late," she said. "I'm not giving you any more chances." The judge found that Brown, who reportedly is pregnant, had moved from Brooklyn to Mahwah, N.J., without permission, failed to report to probation officers and dropped out of court-ordered anger-management sessions. On top of that, Brown went to Florida without authorization in February and got arrested there for allegedly throwing hair glue at a beauty shop employee. That case is pending.
Brown - who mouthed, "Bye, I love you," to her mother as she was hauled back to jail - was indicted in Brooklyn yesterday for allegedly striking her neighbor in the face with her BlackBerry on July 31 after several fights over loud music.
